Queensland Core Skill (QCS) Test Practise For Year 11 OP Eligible Students

12/09/2014

To All Parent/Care Giver,

On Thursday 18 September and Friday 19 September all Year 11 OP eligible students will be required to sit a QCS Test Practise. It is compulsory for OP eligible students to sit the QCS Test in Year 12 as it is used to determine their OP score to gain entry into university. The Practise Tests  will involve students completing the Writing Task Test (2 hours and 10 minutes) and the Multiple Choice I Test (1 hour and 40 minutes) on Thursday and the Short Response Test (2 hours and 10 minutes) and the Multiple Choice II Test (1 hour and 40 minutes) on Friday.
It is imperative that our OP-eligible students attend both days. Being a member of our OP-eligible cohort comes with a high level of commitment and it is important that OP-eligible complete all four test papers. This will enable us to provide the best possible preparation program for the QCS Test in 2015.
Students who are not OP-eligible will also be required to attend school on both these days, as they will have the opportunity to finalise overdue assessment tasks or ensure they are on track to complete VET certificate courses.
Students who are participating in Work Experience will be expected to continue their work experience obligations on these two days. Similarly students who attend TAFE or are participating in a traineeship will be expected to complete their obligations in these areas.
Please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Gordana Jaram via email gjara1@eq.edu.au or by ringing the school on 5503 7888 if you have any queries regarding this program.
