Industrial technology and design

The Nerang High Industrial technology and design offers a variety of practical courses for students from all year levels. Students can choose practical subjects that expose them to a vast range of machinery, power and hand tools.  Incorporated in their learning experiences are elements of design and ergonomics.

We also offer Graphics to all year levels, with students having the opportunity to learn a number of CAD programs. Students investigate topics and styles from engineering and architecture. They also learn how to present their work in a professional manner.

Global aims

The knowledge and skills that our students develop help prepare them for life outside of school. These skills can help with employment opportunities or for simple personal recreational activities such as furniture restoration, picture framing and other practical activities.

Employment opportunities exist for CAD operators and our students complete their course of studies well prepared. Our students are also well prepared if they choose to further their studies in such graphical pursuits as Drafting or Architecture.
