Mathematics

Mathematics is an integral learning area providing students with the knowledge and skills required to make sense of the world with a strong emphasis on higher order thinking and modelling strategies. The ability to justify decisions and communicate in a variety of forms is embedded into our Mathematics curriculum, thus demanding high level literacy skills from our students.

Global aims

The demand for those who are skilled mathematically continues to rise. We focus on developing these capacities via traditional, investigative, technological and explorative approaches. Through the use of relevant and life-related experiences, students have a positive involvement in their own learning.

Course organisation

In today's rapidly changing world there are a wide range of career opportunities requiring an appropriate level of mathematical competence. As such, our students are provided with opportunities to choose a course suitable for their ability, interests and post-school aspirations.
