Nerang State High School is a
proud school, that encourages its students to take PRIDE in all that they do.
Built in 1986, the year of Hayley's Comet, Nerang State High School is
centrally located between the Hinterland and the Gold Coast's famous beaches.
We are a school of approximately
1200 students and over 150 staff members. We value diversity at Nerang State High School and our
curriculum caters for individual needs, by offering a range of programs for our
students. We have academic, cultural and sporting excellence programs, with
strong connections to local universities and community partners. Our Vocational
Education and Training (VET) students are able to acquire skills through a
range of courses at our state of the art trades centre or gain their remote
pilot qualifications through our drone program.
We offer a range of
extra-curricular activities for our students. In the arts, students are able to
join our drumline, funk band, dance troupe and concert band or participate in
our school musicals. Our mountain biking program allows students to utilise the
Nerang National Park Mountain Bike Tracks weekly and compete in national
competitions. We also offer a range of sports through district, inter-school
competition and annual school events, including the swimming carnival,
athletics carnival and cross country competition.
Nerang State High School provides
students with every opportunity to have a well-rounded education that prepares
them to have the confidence and knowledge to succeed as young
adults. We believe our school motto, 'Seek Within and Strive Beyond',
is a guide to ensuring our students achieve their very best.
