Nerang State High would like to extend an invitation to families within the surrounding suburbs of Nerang SHS to join our International Student Homestay Program. This is a fun and rewarding experience that gives families the opportunity to develop life-long friendships with students from different cultures.
We are looking for families to provide a caring and supportive home environment for our International Students (short and long term).
Homestay providers will receive a fortnightly allowance (for each student) to cover costs associated with providing meals, accommodation and access to all amenities.
Requirements include:
• A clean, safe and friendly home, where students can experience the Australian lifestyle and practise their English conversation skills.
• A private, fully furnished bedroom - including a bed, somewhere to store and hang their clothes and belongings neatly.
• Three healthy and sustaining meals per day. We encourage the students to eat with the families and become involved with the daily routines of the household.
• Access to bathroom and laundry facilities.
• Every adult in the home must have a current Blue Card.
• A home inspection to ensure cleanliness, appropriate furnishings and facilities are in place.
• Attend the Homestay Orientation program at the school.
